Chris Millward

Professor Chris Millward is Professor of Practice in Education Policy at the University of Birmingham.

In addition to his roles at Birmingham and Medr, Chris is Director for Fair Access and Participation on the Board of the Office for Students in England, a Marshall Scholarships Commissioner, a Trustee and Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences, and a Trustee of the Society for Research into Higher Education.

Chris has also worked for the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) as a Regional Consultant and then Director of Policy. He was also Head of Research Programmes at the UK Arts and Humanities Research Board during its transition to a Research Council from 2002 to 2006.

Chris grew up in Stockport and attended his local state school before studying at the universities of Warwick and Manchester.
