This session is aimed at organisations interested in applying for new Apprenticeship Programme in Wales grants, including:
  • existing apprenticeship providers
  • new market entrants
  • higher education institutions
  • further education institutions
  • independent training providers
  • charitable organisations
  • public sector organisations, and
  • collaborative partnerships or consortia.
Overview

The new Apprenticeship Programme starts on 1 August 2027 and will be funded by grant, with providers identified through a competitive application process.

On 1 September 2026, we will be launching the Apprenticeship Programme in Wales Grant application process.

This process will set out the:

  • programme requirements
  • application process
  • assessment arrangements
  • funding allocation methodology
  • monitoring expectations, and
  • governance arrangements that will apply throughout the grant period.

All providers that would like to deliver apprenticeships in Wales (this could include current providers, new providers or existing providers but arranged into different consortia) will need to submit an initial (‘Stage 1’) application by 30 September 2026.

Following the launch of the Apprenticeship Programme in Wales Grant application process on 1 September 2026, we are hosting an online information session for organisations interested in applying to deliver apprenticeship provision in Wales.
