Board member
Stephen Marston was Vice-Chancellor of the University of Gloucestershire from 2011 to 2023. He was previously elected Treasurer and Non-Executive Board member of Universities UK in 2022, and served as Chair of the AdvanceHE Board.
Prior to joining the University, he worked in the Whitehall Civil Service, latterly as Director General for Universities and Skills in the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills. He also served as Director for Institutions at the Higher Education Funding Council for England from 1998 to 2002.
He now holds a variety of Non-Executive Board Directorships, for the Student Loans Company, the University of Derby, the West London NHS Trust, and the Care Quality Commission, in addition to Medr.
